If you think you are saving time and money by going through a car wash, you might have to rethink this thought. AS convenient as car washes are, they do more damage than good. Especially over time, if you keep getting your car washed at car washes, you will start noticing more scratches and swirl marks.

The car wash brushes are abrasive and will ruin the paint on your car. In time you might notice that you now have to get a much more expensive repair done because of the damage caused by the car wash. Not only does this cost money, but it can be very stressful when you see swirl marks all over your vehicle.

If you really want to protect your investment, then you should avoid automatic car washes at all costs!

If you want to keep the value of your car up and your paint in good condition, you might need to invest in a detailer that can get the job done properly.

Car washes also used recycled water, and as efficient as their water purifying might be, it's not 100% effective, leading to dirt and grime scratching up your car.

There are other options for car detailing, you could pay someone willing to help, or you could even detail your own vehicle. It all comes down to how badly you want to keep the value and quality of your investment!

One last piece of advice when getting your car detailed is to make sure that it's done in a shaded area so that you can avoid water spots on your vehicle.

If your vehicle was recently repainted or you have a new paint job, then avoid the sun and shade the car at all times. Water spots will damage your paint job and thus making it necessary to get repairs done, which is not a cheap endeavor!

Just remember, you get what you pay for. SO if you are looking to return your car to almost perfect (because perfect doesn't exist in the detailing world), you will have to put in the extra money and get a professional detailer to do it.

If you are someone who likes to save money, then car washes might be for you. But if you want the best results and don't want any surprises down the road, then it's probably a good idea to get it detailed by a professional.

Also, as mentioned previously, stay away from automatic car washes! They will ruin your paint job and thus ruining your investment!

Though car detailing is expensive, it still beats the cost of repainting your car or repairing extensive damages!
